Company: A high-growth, private equity-backed business of c.£80m revenue is seeking a commercially focused Finance Director to join its senior leadership team in Hertfordshire.

This is a broad Finance Director role with a strong commercial finance focus, partnering closely with the CEO and wider leadership team to drive performance, profitability and future growth. Alongside commercial leadership, you will have oversight of the operational finance function and play a key role in the continued development of the finance infrastructure, including a significant ERP transformation programme.

Responsibilities: As the Finance Director, you will be:

  • Acting as a key commercial partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, providing financial insight and challenge to drive business performance
  • Leading commercial finance activity across budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and long-term planning
  • Providing analysis of revenue, margins, profitability and key business drivers to support strategic decision-making
  • Overseeing the operational finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, reporting and month-end processes
  • Driving improvements in financial reporting, MI and performance analysis across the business
  • Leading and supporting the transformation of the finance function, including the implementation and optimisation of a new ERP system
  • Partnering with operational and commercial leaders to improve financial performance, accountability and decision-making
  • Supporting the business through its next phase of growth, ensuring the finance function is scalable, efficient and commercially focused
  • Working closely with private equity stakeholders, providing high-quality financial reporting, insight and analysis

Candidate: The ideal candidate will be:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified
  • An experienced Finance Director, Financial Controller or senior commercial finance leader within a fast-paced, growth-focused environment
  • Highly commercially minded, with a strong track record of partnering with senior leadership and influencing business strategy
  • Experienced across FP&A, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and performance management
  • Comfortable overseeing operational finance while maintaining a strong focus on commercial performance
  • Experienced in ERP implementation, finance systems transformation or significant finance process improvement
  • Able to operate effectively within a private equity-backed environment and work with demanding senior stakeholders
  • A hands-on, pragmatic leader who can balance strategic thinking with detailed operational oversight
