Finance Director | Central London | £110,000–£140,000 DOE (potential flex) + Benefits
FULL TIME OR PART TIME (3-4 DAYS)
Robert Half are partnering with an established SME consulting business (turnover of under £10m) to appoint a commercially minded Finance Director.
This is a broad senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Board and working closely with Directors, Partners, and the Senior Management Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s continued growth and development.
This is a hands-on Finance Director position, combining strategic leadership with day-to-day financial ownership. You’ll be equally comfortable presenting to the Board as you are getting into the detail of the monthly management pack and management accounts.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Finance function and long-term financial strategy
- Owning monthly management accounts and Board reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Project revenue, margin, pricing, and profitability analysis
- Commercial and project analysis to support key business decisions
- Pipeline, capacity, and resource planning
- Business cases, investment analysis, and strategic planning
- Financial controls, governance, tax, and compliance
- Supporting the development of systems, processes, and wider business operations
We’re looking for:
- A qualified accountant with significant senior finance experience (minimum 7-8 yrs PQE)
- Proven experience reporting to a Board / Directors
- Strong SME experience, ideally within a business of similar scale
- Professional services, consulting, or project-based experience is beneficial
- Strong commercial and analytical capability
- Someone comfortable being hands-on with the numbers, while also providing strategic insight
- A confident business partner who can challenge and influence senior stakeholders
