Interim Finance Director - London

Equifind have partnered with an international private equity firm to assist them with their search for an interim finance director to join the team in London.

This role is to start in the new year and we will be running interviews over the course of the next few weeks.

You will be joining an established private equity business which has some deal activity on the runway and need your support for 2027.

This is a great opportunity for someone to lend their experience and become a valued member of a fantastic company. This is a truly hands-on and dynamic role, where you can shape their finance function and the business, having maximum exposure to all business and portfolio operations during your time.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with the outsourced provider to complete quarterly management accounts, annual statutory accounts, payroll, accounts payable and payments
  • Completion of FP&A processes for the firm, including cash monitoring and budgeting
  • Support on transactions, including build out of ESG monitoring and reporting
  • Implementing processes, systems and reporting as the business continues to evolve
  • Sourcing and monitoring third party service provider relationships and advisers for all business operations
  • Coordinate entity formation across fund, GP, carry vehicles, and management company structures
  • Design and implement fund accounting systems and financial controls
  • Select and onboard fund administrators, auditors, custodians, tax advisers, and banking providers
  • Coordinate the legal processes for all firm matters
  • Responsible for HR documentation and onboarding
  • Completion of reporting to the Partnership and the ManCo
  • Develop investor reporting packs and performance dashboards
  • Maintain strong relationships with investors and fund service providers
  • Support partners and legal/tax advisers in designing the fund structure and operating model
  • Coordinate entity formation across the fund, GP, carry vehicles, and ManCo structures
  • Design and implement fund accounting systems and financial controls
  • Work closely with the fund administrators, auditors, custodians, tax advisers, and banking providers
  • Coordinate tax registrations and regulatory filings
  • Ad hoc projects as and when requested by senior management

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a minimum of 10+ years PQE
  • Experience of financial services sector, ideally private equity
  • Experience of fund structures and set-up
  • Exposure to LUX funds
  • Experience of working closely with investment teams and portfolio companies
  • Strong communication & excel skills

You will be joining a collaborative business working closely with the MD and the investment team on a daily basis and with deals on the horizon, this is a fantastic time to be joining.

As collaboration is a big part of the firm’s ethos, you will be requested to be office-based for the majority of the time.

Rate/Salary

This exciting opportunity for a finance director will pay market rate, depending on your industry background and experience.

As mentioned, this role is to start in January 2027, due to the forecasted workflow.
