Financial Director | Single-Family Office | London
We are working with a single-family office in London to appoint a Financial Director to its small, principal-led team.
The family office manages a long-term portfolio of real estate and other private investments through a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional structure spanning the UK, Europe and the US.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Director will take hands-on responsibility for the day-to-day accounting and controlling activities across the group.
This is an operational, detail-oriented finance role rather than an advisory or investment position. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO, gaining broad exposure across the family office and progressively taking on greater finance leadership responsibility.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Running and supporting month-end close, reconciliations and financial reporting

- Providing continuity across the finance function during short CFO absences
The Candidate
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CPA) with approximately 5–7 years' experience gained in controlling, finance or audit.

Experience within financial services, private equity, a family office or another multi-entity environment would be advantageous, as would experience working with corporate, legal or financing documentation.
The successful candidate will be highly numerate and technically strong, but equally important will be a meticulous, self-directed and discreet approach. They should be comfortable taking ownership in a lean environment without the infrastructure or hierarchy of a larger institution.
This is an opportunity to join a sophisticated family office in a broad finance role, working closely with an experienced CFO and with meaningful scope to grow into wider responsibility over time.
