Location: Based across our Ealing, Wembley, Rickmansworth, and Primrose Hill practices, with travel between sites
Working Pattern: Full-time
Contract: Permanent

About the role

We're a fast-growing orthodontic and dental group with five practices and a plan to acquire more this year on an aggressive growth trajectory. We've recently appointed our COO, and now we're looking for a finance director, who will be the most senior finance professional in the business. You'll be building the reporting, controls, and financial infrastructure from scratch, giving our Founder, COO, and Commercial Director the clarity they need to run an ambitious, acquisition-led business.

Who this role will suit

This is a founding role - You'll be equally at home in the detail (reconciliations, payroll, NHS contract numbers) and in the boardroom, shaping how we grow. If you want to build something from the ground up and see the impact of your work immediately, rather than fit into an existing structure, this is a rare opportunity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key responsibilities

  • Reporting & planning: Build monthly management accounts and a Group-level consolidation across all sites, run the budgeting and forecasting cycle, KPIs and coordinate the year-end audit.
  • NHS & payroll: Keep a clear financial picture of each site's NHS contract position, and own Group-wide payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the board.
  • Controls & governance: Design a financial controls framework from scratch - authorisation limits, expense policies, invoices, reconciliations, and keep the business audit-ready as it scales.
  • M&A support: Support due diligence and financial appraisal of acquisition targets, lead completion accounts, and build a repeatable playbook for integrating new practices, including NAV and completion accounts.
  • Business partnering & team build: Act as a trusted financial advisor to the Founder and COO, and identify the right moment to bring in further finance resource or technology solutions as the Group grows.

What we're looking for

  • A qualified accountant (or equivalent practical experience) with a strong track record in management accounts, ideally across multiple sites or entities.
  • Someone commercially minded, highly numerate, and comfortable building process where none yet exists.
  • Sector experience (healthcare, dental, NHS contracts, M&A) is a bonus, not a requirement - we'll support that through induction.
  • What matters most is financial rigour, sound judgement, and the ability to move fast in a growing business.
  • Bonus if you have Dental Experience

What's on offer:

  • Competitive salary: £90,000-£100,000 + performance bonus
  • Front-row seat in high-growth, acquisition-driven expansion
