Finance Director | £90,000 – £110,000 | Carlisle (Office Based) | Rapidly Growing SME

Axon Moore is delighted to be partnering with a rapidly growing SME in Carlisle as they look to appoint a Finance Director to join the business at an exciting stage of its growth.

This is a genuine opportunity to build the finance function from the ground up, working closely with an entrepreneurial MD who is looking for a commercially minded Finance Director to help take the business through its next phase of development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the business, bringing structure, challenge and insight to an organisation that has grown quickly and now needs to professionalise its finance infrastructure.

This role will suit an ambitious first-time Finance Director looking for the opportunity to make their mark, or an established FD looking for a second move into a business where they can have genuine influence and impact.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
