Transaction Advisory Services: Financial Due Diligence - Director

CFGI, founded in 2000 by former Big 4 professionals, is a dynamic and fast-growing financial consulting firm serving as a trusted partner to CFOs and their organisations. We help clients tackle complex challenges across accounting, financial reporting, transactions, regulatory compliance, tax, and business transformation.

We blend deep technical expertise with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to help leading public, private, private equity-backed, and emerging companies move forward with confidence. Without the restrictions of auditor independence, our professionals have the flexibility to provide practical, creative solutions to complex business challenges.

We are actively expanding our Transaction Advisory Services practice in the UK and are seeking an experienced Director to lead complex buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements. Directors serve as trusted advisors to senior client stakeholders, oversee multiple engagements, develop client relationships, contribute to business development, and help drive the continued growth of CFGI’s Transaction Advisory Services practice.

What you might expect:

  • Lead complex buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, providing financial and business due diligence support to private equity firms, strategic buyers, and corporate clients.
  • Analyse and oversee the analysis of target company financial information to identify historical and projected operating trends, quality of earnings and assets, pro forma financial information, working capital considerations, debt and debt-like items, and other potential liabilities or risks.
  • Advise clients on financial matters that may impact transaction valuation, deal structure, negotiations, and overall transaction execution.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients throughout the transaction process and build trusted relationships with private equity sponsors, portfolio company executives, corporate development teams, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple complex engagements simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting transaction deadlines.
  • Manage and coordinate CFGI engagement teams, clients, and third-party diligence providers throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Review and approve financial analyses, due diligence workpapers, client-ready reports, and executive-level presentations.
  • Oversee engagement planning, staffing, project economics, risk management, and overall client delivery.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop Senior Managers, Managers, and Consultants through technical leadership, coaching, and professional development.
  • Contribute to proposal development, client relationship management, networking, cross-selling, and broader business development and practice growth initiatives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
