Lead market and product strategy for Cyber and Professional Indemnity

About the role
At NFU Mutual, you’ll take on a strategic, market facing and technical specialist role, shaping financial lines strategy with particular emphasis on Cyber and Professional Indemnity. You’ll bring specialist market knowledge to the team and help guide the development of relevant products.
As the subject matter expert, you’ll guide the team on complex technical matters and influence market selection and risk placement decisions. You’ll monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging customer needs, identifying opportunities for innovation and helping to keep NFU Mutual’s proposition competitive.
You’ll also produce and support marketing documents, technical content, agency materials and presentations for agents. Your work will have an indicative focus of roughly 40% strategy, 30% market management and 30% subject matter expert activity, helping NFU Mutual strengthen its products and deliver sustainable value for customers.
This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford upon Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 60% of your hours from home.
This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. Internally this role is called NIS Portfolio Specialist.
About you
You’re a credible and confident financial lines specialist who thinks strategically and turns market insight into practical direction. You communicate complex technical information clearly in writing and presentations, build effective relationships with underwriters, brokers, agents and internal teams, and work collaboratively to develop fresh ideas for products and portfolios. You can discuss market trends, competitiveness and innovation clearly, demonstrating how your specialist knowledge would add value to the team.

- Deep financial lines specialist knowledge gained in broking or underwriting, with substantial Cyber and Professional Indemnity expertise.
- Broader financial lines knowledge that supports connected product decisions
- Experience assessing technical referrals and advising on strategy, markets and risk placement
- Current market awareness and experience using data to support decisions in a targeted environment
