Pearse Portfolio is delighted to be partnering with a private equity backed energy infrastructure business as they appoint a Financial Modeller to strengthen their in-house modelling capability in a newly created role.
This is a highly hands-on role with ownership of the group’s core financial modelling environment, working across corporate planning, debt, covenant analysis, investment appraisal and long-term asset modelling.
The successful candidate will work closely with the senior finance leadership team, investors, lenders and wider commercial and operational stakeholders, ensuring models are robust, commercially useful and aligned with the underlying accounting and financial reporting requirements of the business.
Duties include
- Owning, maintaining and developing the group’s core financial models
- Building and improving integrated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow models
- Supporting debt, covenant and lender modelling, including CFADS and DSCR analysis
- Developing long-term asset and concession lifecycle models
- Supporting investment appraisal, growth projects, M&A and financial due diligence
- Running scenario, sensitivity and downside analysis
- Providing modelling outputs for Board, investor and lender reporting
- Improving model governance, controls, documentation and version control
- Bringing modelling capability in-house and reducing reliance on external advisers
- Working closely with Finance, Commercial, Operations, Treasury and Asset Management

Experience required
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
- A strong understanding of the relationship between P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Experience with debt modelling, covenant calculations and lender reporting
- Experience building or operating complex corporate, project finance, energy, infrastructure, utilities or concession models
- The ability to interrogate and improve existing models, including those developed by external advisers
- Strong attention to detail and model governance discipline
- Ideally, experience within energy, infrastructure, utilities or another asset-intensive environment

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualified finance professional with strong modelling capability to take ownership of a critical modelling function within a growing PE-backed platform, with direct exposure to investors, lenders, strategic planning and major investment decisions.
