Financial Modelling Associate

Financial Modelling Analyst – Asset Liability Management (ALM) & Financial Planning at Y TREE

About Y TREE

We are a rapidly growing WealthTech business that is redefining how individuals and families connect and engage with their money. We empower clients with control over their personal finances, enhancing their ability to achieve financial and life goals.

At the core of this mission is Financial Modelling—the conceptual engine behind our proprietary models and analytical frameworks. Our team delivers intellectual rigour, focusing on what truly matters to clients.

Our models and tools are designed to be:

  • Robust – Reliable and dependable
  • Scalable – Adaptable as business needs grow
  • Purposeful – Powering every stage of the client lifecycle with unified logic

Every financial model and tool we build distills complex data into actionable, user-friendly insights—helping clients make informed decisions.

Team Overview

The Financial Modelling Team is responsible for:

  • Delivering financial models that capture the true realities of clients’ lives
  • Transforming complex financial data into clear, personalised insights
  • Building user-friendly, scalable tools that drive client decision-making

The Financial Modelling Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the migration of our financial engines from legacy Excel environments to a code-based (Python/Proprietary Stack) ecosystem. Reporting to the Head of Financial Modelling & Analytics (FMG), you will:

  • Improve modeling velocity and accuracy
  • Ensure Financial Life Analysis (FLA) production remains high-quality
  • Document, test, and refine mathematical logic for full transparency

The Role

Key Responsibilities

1. Execute Client Analysis

  • Run complex Financial Life Analysis (FLA) and Asset Liability Management (ALM) projections for client portfolios.
  • Translate client-specific scenarios (e.g., liquidity events, estate planning, gifting) into precise model inputs.
  • Generate accurate outputs for the Advice team to support informed decision-making.

2. Operational Efficiency

  • Reduce cost and time spent on manual analysis.
  • Take ownership of recurring ancillary analyses and tools, ensuring delivery within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
