Job Description
The Fuel Finance department has an opportunity within the Financial Operations team for a Financial Operations Assistant to oversee an area of the group’s operational and invoicing processes.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the department run smoothly by ensuring that systems and processes are used effectively to maximise efficiency, with an ongoing focus on continuous development. The Financial Operations team have a key focus on customer facing outputs which maintain the flow of revenue into the business.
This role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to plan and prioritise a busy workload in order to meet challenging deadlines.
Key Role Responsibilities
Billing Process Duties:
- Process accurate, on-time invoicing across our fuel business.
- Manage Direct Debit collections and daily bank reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Credit and Finance teams to resolve queries.
- Contribute to process improvements and cross-functional projects.
- Develop and maintain relationship with external partners.
- Develop and maintain process controls.
- Assist the Financial Operations Manager with ad hoc tasks.

Qualifications
- Be able to successfully multitask and prioritise work and adapt to changing environments
- Keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined to achieve targets
- Professionalism with respect to conduct around peers and colleagues at all times
- Will require good judgement and decision-making skills
- Strong commitment to providing the very best customer service
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm towards work
- Excellent communication skills, both written and orally
- Good team worker
- Ability to identify and implement system and process improvements to increase the efficiency of the department
- Be able to demonstrate commercial awareness
- Previous financial experience is not a necessity
- Good experience in Microsoft Excel e.g. pivot tables, formulas (training will be provided where necessary)
