Referment is working with one of Europe's fastest-growing AI companies to hire its first dedicated Financial Operations Lead.

This is a rare opportunity to build the finance function from the ground up inside a high-growth technology business. You'll work directly with the founders, taking ownership of finance operations, reporting, budgeting and cash management while introducing the systems and automation needed to support rapid international growth.

This isn't a traditional Financial Controller or CFO role. It's for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, fixing messy processes, and building a finance function that can scale.

The Role

You'll Be Responsible For

  • Owning accounts payable and accounts receivable across the business.
  • Managing invoicing, collections and cash flow to support continued growth.
  • Running month-end close alongside external accountants and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Building the company's finance processes, controls and operating rhythms.
  • Implementing finance systems and automating manual workflows using AI and modern tooling.
  • Developing budgets, forecasts and financial models for hiring and commercial decisions.
  • Supporting leadership with board reporting and investor metrics.
  • Managing treasury, banking and liquidity across multiple international entities.
  • Working closely with Sales and Revenue Operations to improve commercial reporting and collections.
  • Supporting strategic projects including international expansion and corporate development

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience within a VC-backed SaaS or AI company would be particularly valuable, as would exposure to procurement, treasury or M&A projects.

This could suit a Head of Finance, Finance Operations Lead, FP&A Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager looking for the opportunity to build and lead a finance function from day one.
