Protect customer money. Strengthen the controls that keep it safe.
We’re looking for a Financial Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of MoneyPlus’s client money and financial transaction processes across Debt Management Plan and Individual Voluntary Arrangement activity.
You’ll lead an 8 FTE team and have a direct influence on the accuracy, timeliness and resilience of critical payment processes - from receipt and allocation through reconciliation, fee transfer, distribution, refunds and exception resolution. You’ll also help strengthen the control framework, reduce manual risk and prevent repeat failure.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead safe, accurate and timely client money operations across DMP and IVA activity.
- Maintain robust reconciliations, books and records, segregation of duties, approval controls and evidence that critical controls have been completed and independently signed off.
- Investigate breaks, shortfalls, excesses, suspense and aged items, ensuring corrective action and escalation happen within the required timescales.
- Own the operational lifecycle for client money incidents and breaches, including root cause analysis, remediation and clear evidence.
- Maintain CASS 11 operational evidence, support the annual client assets audit and Compliance testing, and deliver agreed actions to closure.
- Produce clear MI and risk indicators for senior stakeholders, highlighting trends, control weaknesses and decisions required.
- Lead controlled process, technology and automation improvements that improve accuracy, efficiency and resilience without weakening control.
- Coach and develop an 8 FTE Financial Operations team, building competence, cross-skilling, succession and effective absence cover.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
