Role: Financial Planner Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 + Bonus Location: Northamptonshire/Buckinghamshire
A well-established, client-focused wealth management firm is seeking an experienced Financial Planner to join its growing team in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a business that values long-term client relationships, high-quality advice, and professional excellence. The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering holistic financial planning and is committed to supporting both its clients and employees for the long term.
The Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to inherit and develop an existing client bank, while also benefiting from a steady flow of new enquiries generated through referrals and the firm's strong brand presence. Working closely with the Financial Planning Director, you will provide holistic financial planning advice tailored to clients' individual circumstances and long-term objectives. The successful candidate will focus on nurturing and expanding client relationships while delivering exceptional ongoing service. Supported by an experienced paraplanning and administration team, you will be able to concentrate on advising clients rather than back-office responsibilities. This role would suit an adviser who is looking for a supportive environment where they can maximize their expertise and continue developing their career.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
