Senior Financial Planner - Private Banking

A leading Private Bank is seeking an experienced and highly accomplished Senior Financial Planner to join its established Wealth Planning team in Mayfair.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside a high-performing team of Private Bankers and Investment Advisors delivering sophisticated financial planning solutions to high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients, entrepreneurs, executives, and families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic wealth planning advice and helping clients navigate complex financial decisions across all stages of their wealth journey.

The Opportunity

You will join a very successful team, who enjoy long-standing relationships with an extensive portfolio of HNW & UHNW clients. Through a collaborative approach, you will deliver comprehensive planning strategies tailored to each client's personal, family, and business objectives.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Financial Planner / Wealth Planner who thrives in a client-centric environment and enjoys working with complex planning cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic financial planning advice to HNW and UHNW clients.
  • Develop and implement bespoke wealth planning strategies covering pensions, investments, inheritance tax mitigation, estate planning, and retirement planning.
  • Conduct detailed client reviews and create comprehensive financial plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Private Bankers and Investment Advisors.
  • Support clients through significant life events, liquidity events, and intergenerational wealth transfer.
  • Build trusted adviser relationships with clients and their professional advisers, including solicitors, accountants, and trustees.
  • Maintain the highest standards of regulatory and compliance oversight.
  • Ensure all advice is delivered in accordance with FCA regulations and Consumer Duty requirements.
  • Mentor and support junior advisers where appropriate.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent.
  • Significant experience advising HNW and UHNW clients.
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, tax-efficient planning, and estate planning.
  • Experience working within Wealth Management, Private Banking, or a sophisticated financial planning environment.
  • Exceptional client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of FCA regulations and suitability standards.
  • Ability to manage complex planning requirements with professionalism and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Financial Planner status.
  • Fellowship or progress towards Fellowship qualifications.
  • STEP, CFA, CISI, or additional advanced planning qualifications.
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs, business owners, and multi-generational family wealth structures.
