No targets. Just great financial planning.
Every time.
If you're looking for the antidote to the consolidator job market, you've found it.
At this business you'll be one of three planners who work together to provide first class financial planning.
And this isn't a growth hire where you're expected to arrive with a black book or build one from scratch.
You'll be taking over an established client book as one of the firm's directors prepares to retire in 2027.
That means no targets. No validation. No ego.
It means being able to spend time with your clients. A busy day is two client review meetings.
It means a flat structure where you get to have your say in how the business works.
It means a rewarding, fulfilling career where the pressure is on doing a great job, not selling.
And it means a meaningful handover.
The starting salary is c£65,000 but there's some flexibility here to get the right person. There's also an annual bonus based on company profitability. That's likely to be 10-15% of salary.
The client book you'll inherit will be substantial but manageable. The business believes around 65 client relationships per planner is about right, with clients typically having between £250,000 and £2m invested.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
So you're taking responsibility for good-quality existing relationships, not being handed an impossible servicing list and told to crack on.
As for an advocate, how about a former planner?
They spent eight years with the business before leaving to do something completely different. It was a very difficult decision and they remain a big supporter of the firm. They'd even be happy to speak to prospective candidates about what it's actually like to work there.
How refreshing is that?
What is also refreshing is their approach to the working environment. Around 95% of client meetings take place in their Cheshire office, but it's not a rigid 9-5 environment. It's a grown-up, "we're all adults here" one.
Here's What You'll Need
What is fundamental to this business is the ethos and approach of the person joining them. That means:
- Enough experience as a financial planner to make a swift impact with the client book you'll inherit, probably 2/3 years+
- A client-first attitude
- A genuine team player
- Someone motivated by doing good work rather than chasing individual targets
- Presence and credibility as a planner
- The confidence to sit opposite a client with £1m to invest and make them feel they're in safe hands

The Company
This business has grown through referrals year on year for 16 years.
They're proud to be independent and proud to be small whilst punching well above their weight.
They now manage around £92m of client assets and have built that almost entirely through reputation and referrals.
One of the two directors is due to retire in 2027, which is why this role exists. The remaining director is 51, has no plans to retire anytime soon and wants the business to continue operating exactly as it does now.
Clients of the firm typically have £250,000-£2m invested, so it's enjoyable, challenging work.
But you won't be overwhelmed. It's a company that deliberately keeps client numbers sensible so planners can actually spend proper time with the people they're advising.
If you didn't think jobs like this existed anymore, you'll probably be pleased this one does. Click apply and we'll tell you more.
