Description

We are seeking a Chartered Financial Planner to join Benchmark Financial Planning. This role suits an experienced adviser with a strong track record of acquiring and retaining clients, an established professional network, and the credibility to handle complex client needs.

You will manage a portfolio of affluent clients, lead sophisticated planning cases, support business growth, and mentor junior colleagues. This is a senior role with real influence on clients, people, and the wider business.

What you'll do

  • Deliver holistic financial planning across investments, pensions, protection, and tax.
  • Lead client meetings, fact finds, and the construction of tailored financial plans.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with professional introducers.
  • Develop new business through referrals and networking.
  • Act as a technical reference point for complex cases.
  • Mentor and support junior planners and paraplanners.
  • Maintain strong compliance standards and quality of advice.
  • Contribute to business growth and operational improvement.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Chartered Financial Planner status (CII or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years’ regulated advisory experience, typically 10+ at this level.
  • Evidence of successful business development through professional networks.
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, tax, and estate planning.
  • Confidence dealing with high-net-worth clients.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced advisers.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial planning systems and tools.

The base

You’ll be based at our Brighton office, providing a strong local base while working closely with colleagues and advisers across the wider business, including interaction with our head office in Horsham.
