We are working on behalf of Friar Gate Independent Financial Services to find an experienced Financial Planning Administrator to join their established team.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Planning Administrator with a minimum of three years’ experience within an IFA, wealth management or financial planning organisation to join our established team.

This is a hands-on role for someone with strong technical administration experience who is ready to develop their career and take on greater responsibility. You’ll manage work from instruction through to completion, take ownership of more complex cases and work closely with our Financial Planners, Paraplanner and administration team to keep client work moving efficiently and accurately.

We’re looking for a strong team player who is happy to share their experience, support colleagues and contribute ideas about how we can continually improve the way we work.

Accuracy, attention to detail and a strong understanding of compliance are essential, alongside the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver a consistently high standard of client service.

There’s plenty of opportunity to learn, grow and develop within the role, with the potential to take on greater responsibility as the business continues to grow.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
