We have a great opportunity for an FP&A Financial Accountant to join our fast-paced and friendly Finance Department in our central Bristol offices on a six month fixed term basis.
Within this role, the successful candidate can expect to support a highly dynamic and business facing Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality management information (MI) to support decision making from across the business, including at executive management level. You will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, using analytical skills to provide insightful, accurate and timely commentary to explain both past performance, and identify future opportunities.
Any successful applicant will also have the opportunity to work in the other controlling areas; Reporting; Expenses and ARAG Law, doing a range of different work as required by the wider Business Controlling & Reporting team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, and building business plans and forecasts, reviewing, analysing and sense-checking assumptions, as well as undertaking controlling activities to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
- Fulfilling monthly, quarterly and ad hoc MI requests from senior stakeholders across the business, providing insightful and analytical commentary on performance.
- Using analytical skills to solve problems as they arise and continually developing processes to enhance their efficiency and control.
- Taking on both business-as-usual and ad hoc work for the other controlling areas as required.

About You
We are keen to hear from candidates that can demonstrate the following:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build solid working relationships both within and outside the Finance department
- Strong Excel skills are essential, and working knowledge of SAP and its analytical tools is preferable
- Previous experience of month-end close culture of strict deadlines, tight financial controls and taking responsibility for quality of work produced
- Previous experience working within the insurance industry / financial services would be highly desirable, however this is not essential
