Near Warrington | Hybrid – 3 days office | Up to £55,000 + benefits
SRM Recruitment is supporting a growing organisation within the technology and services sector with the appointment of an FP&A Analyst / Commercial Finance Business Partner.
This is a highly commercial role suited to someone who enjoys understanding what drives business performance, working directly with operational stakeholders and using financial analysis to influence decisions.

Responsibilities:
- Partnering with operational and commercial leaders to support business performance
- Analysing margins, profitability and key financial trends
- Providing financial insight around new business opportunities and contract renewals
- Supporting pricing decisions and commercial governance
- Reviewing the financial implications of customer contracts and recurring-revenue arrangements
- Producing analysis and reporting that translates financial data into clear recommendations
- Identifying opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and overall financial performance
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and wider FP&A activity
- Providing constructive financial challenge to non-finance stakeholders

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
