Senior FP&A Manager – 6 Month Contract

Distinct is recruiting on behalf of a large, high-profile business in the Midlands for an experienced Senior FP&A Manager to join the team on an initial six-month contract.

The position is based in the West Midlands, easily commutable from Birmingham, Solihull, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. Hybrid is offered - three days on-site.

This is a highly visible FP&A role with real exposure to the CFO, Executive Team and Board. The successful individual will sit at the centre of group planning and performance, turning complex financial information into clear insight that helps shape key business decisions.

It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery in a fast-moving, complex organisation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who are we looking for

You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong FP&A background gained within a PLC, large corporate or complex matrix organisation.

You’ll need to be commercially minded, comfortable operating with senior stakeholders and able to move beyond simply reporting the numbers to explain what they mean, why they matter and what the business should be thinking about next.

Strong financial modelling and Excel skills are essential, with SAP and Power BI experience particularly useful.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who can quickly get to grips with a complex organisation, build credibility and make an impact from the outset.
