Interim FP&A Manager - Reports To: C-Suite

The business is currently undertaking a major finance transformation, migrating systems ahead of the new financial year.

About the Role

The Role we require a hands-on FP&A manager to take full ownership of the day-to-day finance operational cycle, payroll accounting, commercial analysis, and forecasting across UK, US, entities. This is an execution and delivery role to backfill operational finance and FP&A responsibilities, freeing up internal project leads to focus full-time on the core system migration.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Accounting & Operational Finance (Monthly)

  • Global Month-End: Calculate and post monthly payroll journals for UK, US entities from provider reports.
  • Commissions & Accruals: Run calculations across various commission schemes (UK & US) and manage monthly bonus accruals across all entities.
  • Execute IFRS 15 commission capitalisation journals for UK and US entities.

FP&A, Revenue Recognition & Group Reporting

  • Revenue Accounting: Prepare professional services revenue journals and monthly revenue recognition reporting.
  • Group Submissions: Deliver Q3 and Q4 quarterly group reporting packs to the parent group alongside year-end close activities under fixed deadlines.

Forecasting, Modelling & Commercial Analysis

  • Maintain and own headcount/payroll forecasts (including vacancy management), professional services forecasts, and book-and-earn models.
  • Commercial Insights: Perform deep-dive win/loss and sales performance analysis across products, customer tiers, and pricing structures to support C-suite decision-making on investment and pricing strategy.
  • Process Automation: Maintain and enhance documented, repeatable finance workflows leveraging AI tools (such as Claude) and advanced Excel automation.

Qualifications

Qualification

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or substantial equivalent experience in senior FP&A/management accounting roles.

Required Skills

Multi-Entity Payroll & Accounting

  • Proven expertise handling multi-currency/multi-country payroll journals, accruals, and complex commission structures.

Group Reporting

  • Track record of delivering quarterly group reporting packages to parent companies under strict deadlines.

Systems & Tools

  • Advanced Excel skills (dynamic arrays, advanced modeling) alongside hands-on proficiency with cloud finance software and AI automation workflows (e.g., Claude).

Self-Starter

  • Ability to take ownership of live processes within 1–2 weeks and work independently under deadline pressure.
