Role: Finance Planning Manager
Location: London - 3 x days per week
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: Up to £600 per day (Inside IR35)
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Planning Manager to join our Finance team, supporting the Technology function.
This is a high-profile role working closely with Technology leadership, Finance Business Partners, Shared Service teams, and other key stakeholders across the organisation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business performance management while providing insight and challenge to support effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning, Forecasting & Reporting
- Lead and coordinate monthly forecasts and annual budget submissions, ensuring delivery against corporate timetables.
- Prepare and present monthly management reporting packs, stakeholder updates, and business reviews.
- Produce insightful financial analysis, variance reporting, commentary, and performance bridges.
- Consolidate budgets and forecasts, ensuring assumptions, risks, opportunities, and dependencies are clearly understood and articulated.
- Support annual budgeting processes through the development of presentations, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
- Manage headcount and FTE reporting, including workforce planning insights.
- Lead working capital forecasting and budget submissions.
- Monitor capital expenditure forecasts and provide analysis and commentary for leadership review.
- Track and report on exceptional items, transformation costs, and other non-recurring expenditure.
- Provide financial performance updates and ongoing cost analysis to support decision-making.

Strategic Planning
- Support the development and maintenance of longer-term financial plans, including three-year planning cycles.
- Coordinate financial inputs from stakeholders and ensure high-quality submissions into planning systems.
- Deliver consolidated analysis, presentations, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvements to financial planning and reporting processes.
- Identify opportunities to enhance forecasting models, KPI reporting, and workforce planning capabilities.
- Support the administration and development of financial planning systems and reporting tools.
- Maintain data integrity, governance standards, and financial controls.
- Partner with Finance, HR, and operational teams to improve the quality and accuracy of financial and workforce data.
Business Partnership & Leadership
- Act as a trusted finance partner to Technology and operational leadership teams.
- Serve as deputy to the Senior Finance Business Partner when required.
- Provide leadership and development support to junior finance team members.
- Build strong relationships with shared services and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective financial processes.
- Support internal and external audit requirements and maintain compliance with organisational finance policies.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, engagement, and continuous improvement across the team.

About You
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Experience within Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business Partnering, or a similar commercial finance role.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial planning processes.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex financial information and provide meaningful business insight.
- Experience working within large, complex organisations.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting technology, digital, or shared services functions.
- Knowledge of financial planning and consolidation systems such as TM1, SAP FC, SAP EPM, or similar tools.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior finance professionals.
