Role
Our client, a well-established Lloyd's market insurer, is looking for a qualified accountant to join their finance team and take the lead on technical reporting for their Lloyd's business. Sitting at the centre of the quarterly close, you will own the end-to-end cycle, from loading data into the close model and running the accounting processes, to working through results with the Actuarial team and seeing submissions through to sign-off.
Alongside core reporting, this role carries a genuine improvement remit. You will play a key part in shaping how the finance function operates, supporting and leading projects that streamline reporting processes and modernise the systems behind them. It suits someone who enjoys both delivering a robust close and finding ways to make it better.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
