What We Are Looking For
Financial Reporting & Governance Accountant
Full Time, Perm | Bristol | Hybrid Work | Finance
Position Overview
To ensure the integrity of the Company’s Financial Reporting by preparing statutory financial statements, maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards, legal requirements, and supporting the Company’s internal financial governance framework.
The role provides technical accounting expertise, oversees key financial controls, supports the external audit process and promotes a strong control environment across the business.
What You Will Do
Statutory Financial Reporting
- Prepare annual statutory financial statements from the trial balance in accordance with IFRS and applicable legal requirements
- Produce all supporting disclosures, accounting notes and technical accounting papers
- Review the trial balance to ensure completeness and accuracy before statutory reporting
- Support maintenance of accounting policies and ensure they remain compliant with changing accounting standards
- Resolve technical accounting issues and provide accounting guidance to the wider finance team
- Support Preparation of corporation tax information and other statutory reporting requirements

Internal Governance and Financial Control
- Support maintenance and enhancement of the Company’s Internal Controls Framework
- Support Internal audit activities and track implementation of agreed actions
- Support implementation of governance initiatives arising from organisation or regulatory change
- Promote continuous improvement in financial processes, governance and internal controls
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary finance contact for statutory reporting matters
- Build effective relationships with operational finance teams, auditors and senior management

What Qualifications You Should Have
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
- Experience preparing statutory financial statements
- Good understanding of internal controls, corporate governance and financial risk management
- Experience of ERP system (SAP desirable)
