A highly regarded Top 10 accountancy and business advisory firm is seeking an experienced Manager to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional looking to broaden their experience beyond pure compliance work and take on a role with significant client ownership, commercial involvement and people leadership responsibilities.
Working with an established and diverse portfolio of clients, you will gain exposure to business owners, finance leaders and senior stakeholders across a range of sectors. The breadth of experience available makes this an ideal role for someone considering a future move into industry, as you will develop the commercial awareness, relationship management and leadership skills often sought by employers outside practice.
Your new role
You will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing assignments from planning through to completion, whilst ensuring an exceptional level of client service is delivered throughout.
Alongside managing client relationships, you will lead and develop a team, reviewing work, supporting career progression and helping to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
The role also offers genuine involvement in business development activities, identifying opportunities within existing relationships and supporting wider growth initiatives across the firm.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a trusted point of contact.
- Leading assignments and ensuring work is delivered within agreed budgets and deadlines.
- Reviewing and overseeing the work of junior team members.
- Supporting fee discussions, billing processes and cash collection activities.
- Building strong stakeholder relationships and providing commercially focused advice.
- Mentoring, developing and managing team members.
- Contributing to business development initiatives and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Working closely with senior leadership to support operational improvements and resource planning.
What you'll need to succeed
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients within accountancy practice.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and FRS 102, including experience working with groups and consolidated entities.
- Proven team management and staff development experience.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to build long-term client relationships.
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with business owners and senior stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience of identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships would be advantageous.
