Ascent Recruitment is pleased to exclusively partner with a successful Financial Services SME in Manchester City Centre in search of an ACA-qualified Financial Reporting Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys broad ownership, leading a small team and working in a regulated environment.
The Role
- Lead, develop and mentor a team of 3–4 finance professionals.
- Own the general ledger and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and oversee year-end reporting.
- Lead the external audit process and liaise with tax advisers.
- Produce Board reporting and external regulatory reporting.
- Oversee treasury, banking and day-to-day financial operations.
- Drive improvements to financial controls, reporting and finance processes.
- Support the business on technical accounting and business projects.

About You
- ACA qualified, ideally trained within a Big 4 or Top 20 practice.
- Strong technical accounting and statutory reporting experience.
- Experience within a regulated environment.
- Previous SME or mid-market experience with broad finance exposure.
- Strong communication skills with an inquisitive, proactive approach.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring a small team.

Salary & Key Benefits
- £75,000-£80,000 basic salary
- Annual bonus
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
- 5% employer pension contribution
- 9 am-5 pm working hours, supporting a genuine work-life balance
