Finance Manager - Reporting
Full-time, Permanent
Hybrid working: Based at Bupa Place, Manchester, with two office days per week and occasional travel to other Bupa sites.
The Role
As a key member of the Financial Control team within the wider Dental Finance function, the Finance Manager – Financial Reporting plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet, cash flow reporting, and month-end and quarterly submissions to internal stakeholders, Market Unit (MU), and Group Finance.
This role leads the delivery of external and internal audits, oversees statutory accounts submissions across 135 legal entities, and works closely with the Tax team on corporation tax and VAT matters. You'll also be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of five Financial Accountants, driving high performance and supporting their professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Financial Controller with consolidated Group reporting and financial controls across the business.
- Lead the delivery of monthly and quarterly reporting, including balance sheet, cashflow, IFRS, and Solvency II submissions.
- Ensure robust reconciliations, controls, and reporting processes are maintained, with compliance to accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Partner with the Finance Manager, Management Accounts to deliver an accurate and timely month-end reporting cycle.
- Provide financial support for planning and forecasting activities, including IFRS 16, depreciation, balance sheet, and cashflow.
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Commercial, and Operational teams, acting as a trusted business partner to key stakeholders.
- Support business cases, continuous improvement initiatives, and ad hoc finance projects.

What we're looking for
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Strong experience in financial reporting, including the preparation of statutory accounts and annual reports.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage, coach and develop high-performing teams.
- Confident presenting financial information and insights to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Able to translate complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives that support decision-making.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and drive outcomes.
- Resilient and adaptable, with experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience leading teams through change would be advantageous.
