Interim Group Financial Reporting Manager (18-Month FTC)
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + benefits
Location: London (Hybrid)
Industry: Leading UK Media & Entertainment Group
I'm partnering with a leading UK-listed business seeking an Interim Group Financial Reporting Manager to join their Group Controllership & Reporting team on an 18-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys complex accounting issues, external reporting, consolidations and technical accounting. The role will involve supporting major corporate transactions alongside helping deliver the Group's half-year and year-end reporting requirements.
This is not a traditional management reporting role. The hiring team is particularly interested in candidates with experience preparing technical accounting papers, supporting complex consolidations, drafting audit committee materials and working on listed company reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and assess complex accounting matters including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and other non-BAU transactions
- Prepare technical accounting papers and accounting position papers for senior stakeholders and auditors
- Produce audit committee papers and presentations on significant accounting matters
- Support the delivery of half-year and year-end statutory financial statements under IFRS
- Assess the accounting impact of complex revenue arrangements, business combinations, pensions and group restructurings
- Act as a key contact during the Group external audit process
- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and reporting requirements
- Maintain and update Group accounting policies and technical guidance
- Provide IFRS and UK GAAP technical support across the wider finance organisation
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes, controls and governance activities

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
