Financial Reporting Manager
Location: Central London (Hybrid working – 2/3 days WFH)
Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 + discretionary bonus & comprehensive benefits package
Our client is a multinational energy group operating across a complex international footprint. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to join their London finance team.
Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting, this role will take ownership of key financial reporting activities across the group, supporting high-quality internal and external reporting while driving improvements to processes, controls, and financial analysis.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs
- Own detailed balance sheet and P&L analysis, identifying key variances, trends, risks, and areas requiring further investigation
- Review financial information prepared by external advisers and challenge outputs where appropriate
- Manage key elements of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting processes
- Review reconciliations, reporting schedules, financial commentary, and supporting analysis
- Support the preparation and review of statutory and group reporting requirements
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities as required
- Support board, lender, and investor reporting, ensuring information is accurate, timely, and commercially relevant
- Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and professional advisers throughout reporting cycles
- Maintain and strengthen financial reporting controls, policies, and governance
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting processes, systems, and efficiencies
- Provide technical accounting support and guidance to stakeholders across the finance function
- Partner with senior stakeholders across finance and the wider business to support commercial and strategic decision-making
- Support and review the work of junior members of the finance team where required

Requirements

- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified accountant
- Trained within a Big 4 or Top 10 accountancy practice with an external audit background
- Strong post-qualification industry experience within a financial reporting, group accounting, or controllership environment
- Experience managing or taking ownership of complex month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting processes
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience
- US GAAP experience would be beneficial
- Oil & Gas, Energy, Infrastructure, or Natural Resources sector experience would be advantageous
- Experience preparing and reviewing management reporting, financial analysis, and senior stakeholder reporting
- Strong understanding of financial controls, balance sheet governance, and reporting processes
- Advanced Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage and challenge senior stakeholders, auditors, and external advisers
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced international environment
- Proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable taking ownership of complex reporting matters
