Financial Reporting Manager

£74,620 per annum
Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire - Hybrid
Full Time, Permanent

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the housing community?

Are you a qualified finance professional with a passion for delivering high-quality financial reporting, strategic insight, and strong financial governance?

We’re on the hunt for a dedicated and enthusiastic Financial Reporting Manager to join our amazing Finance and Resources team at Fairhive, to lead our financial reporting function and play a key role in supporting the organisation's financial performance, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainability.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation where your expertise will directly contribute to providing homes and services that make a positive difference to our communities.

About the role…

As Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Financial Reporting function across the Fairhive Group. You'll lead the production of annual statutory accounts, oversee regulatory reporting requirements, and ensure the timely submission of financial information to regulators, lenders, and other statutory bodies. You'll also take the lead on the external audit process, ensuring robust financial controls and compliance are maintained across the organisation.

Working closely with budget holders and colleagues across the business, you'll oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, develop corporate budgets, produce financial forecasts, and provide insightful reporting to support decision-making at all levels. You'll prepare quarterly financial reports for the Board, including budget performance, year-end forecasts, cashflow information, and financial covenant monitoring.

This role also provides the opportunity to influence service improvement and organisational efficiency through finance system development, process enhancement, and the delivery of projects that support Fairhive's continuous improvement agenda. As a leader within Finance, you'll inspire and support colleagues, build effective relationships across the business, and provide expert financial guidance that helps achieve our strategic objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
