We're looking for an experienced copywriter to work on one of the UK's most-loved household brands, John Lewis

Your role will be split between the business's financial arm, John Lewis Money and the Retail/Brand copywriting team.

You're adaptable. Equally at home translating complex financial information into clear, compelling, accessible copy as you are writing head-turning headlines, irresistibly clickable emails, persuasive web content and engaging POS.

You have a keen eye for detail, a genuine flair for creative writing, and ideally, you'll have a background in financial services and knowledge of FCA regulations too.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Lead Copywriter, you'll deliver great copy in response to briefs across multiple channels and platforms, following the brand and tone of voice guidelines
  • You'll ensure financial copy meets all relevant regulatory, legal, and compliance standards, ensuring it is clear, fair, and not misleading.
  • Manage your day-to-day workload effectively across multiple fast-moving or ad-hoc briefs, maintain clear communication and ask for guidance on priority order when capacity is tight.
  • Follow established studio copy processes, including highlighting copy changes, managing tracked amends, and implementing reviewer feedback cleanly

Requirements

  • Outstanding writing skills and the ability to craft engaging content and messaging - short and long form
  • Demonstrable experience using these across multiple channels/platforms.
  • Experience in financial services marketing and communications, plus a sound understanding of financial promotion principles is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interpret business requirements and briefs and turn them into engaging written content and messaging.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple briefs and prioritise effectively under pressure
  • Familiarity with workflow systems (e.g., Asana) and time tracking tools
  • Portfolio showcasing examples of your great copywriting, including examples of brand and direct response campaigns

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
