A leading European corporate and institutional bank is seeking a Financial Risk Analyst for its London branch.
The role sits in Financial Risk Management and covers liquidity, funding, ALM, market risk, reporting and controls.
The role
You will monitor the branch’s financial risks, produce and analyse risk reports, support frameworks and committees, and help strengthen controls, data quality and automation. You will also back up the other Financial Risk Analyst and support the Head of Financial Risk Management.
Key responsibilities
Risk management
- Monitor liquidity, funding and ALM KRIs against internal thresholds
- Monitor market risk KRIs against internal thresholds
- Support the team on credit risk monitoring
- Maintain and update the Liquidity Risk and Market Risk Frameworks, and assist with the Credit Risk Framework, under the Head of FRM
- Support Financial Risk Management policies and procedures
- Act as Secretary or back-up Secretary for local ALCO and the Market Risks Committee
- Back up FRM colleagues and help train interns when required

Risk control
- Provide SME support to Internal Control on second-level financial risk controls and on supervision of first-level controls
- Work with Internal Control to implement and enhance controls over data, systems and reports
Risk reporting
- Produce and analyse liquidity, funding, ALM and market risk indicators and reports
- Collaborate on the ALCO pack, Market Risk pack, relevant RCCD pack sections and EXCO pack
- Support new reporting as the risk landscape evolves
- Review Group ALCO and Group Market Risk reports and assess branch impact
- Participate in group stress-testing exercises when required and present results
- Improve SOPs, reporting processes and data-quality checks
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting using Excel, VBA and BI tools such as Qlik Sense

Risk projects
- Contribute to Group ALM model development and maintenance
- Support financial-risk business development and Credit, Market and Treasury systems projects
- Assist the FRM team on AI-related work and on risk, compliance and internal control projects and remediations
Risk and compliance culture
- Follow group policies including AML-CFT, conduct, conflicts, data protection, market abuse, personal account dealing, tax evasion and whistleblowing
- Help strengthen the branch’s risk and compliance culture through policies, training and Q&As
Requirements
- Relevant university degree
- Experience in financial risk management with a particular focus on liquidity risk.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; self-driven and able to think beyond the obvious
