Job Title: Financial Risk Lead, Trust and Securities Services (TSS)
Location: London
Corporate Title: Vice President
In this role, you will own and drive the financial risk agenda across the entire Trust & Securities Services (TSS) franchise, with a particular focus on shaping the future of risk management in our Custody and Clearing businesses. You will be at the centre of some of the most complex, high-value transaction flows, acting as the senior authority on credit, settlement and liquidity risks and influencing decisions that directly impact Deutsche Bank’s global clients and Balance Sheet.
You’ll also play a key leadership role in elevating our risk capability, developing and upskilling talent, mentoring colleagues and fostering a culture of continuous learning, while partnering with senior stakeholders across Sales, Cash Management Services, Operations, Legal, Treasury and Credit to deliver commercially sharp, well-governed outcomes.

Your key responsibilities
- Lead financial risk management across TSS Custody & Clearing, identifying material credit, settlement and liquidity risks and driving timely mitigation
- Serve as the escalation point for transaction-related exposures, providing clear risk judgement and recommendations
- Design and enhance risk frameworks, policies and metrics to support monitoring and informed decision-making
- Understand and oversee client credit risk, including limit setting, exposure analysis, legal structures and settlement behavior
- Provide senior risk input into new business, complex transactions and client onboarding
- Support and mentor junior team members, strengthening risk capability and consistency
Your skills and experience
- Experience in financial risk management within a banking environment, with senior accountability for credit, settlement or liquidity risk
- Strong understanding of post-trade processes, custody and clearing risk drivers, and client/account structures, would be advantageous, but not a prerequisite for the role
- More important is a strong risk mindset, sound judgement, and the ability to challenge the status quo and deliver pragmatic solutions
- The ability to engage senior stakeholders and present clear, data-driven risk assessments
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience; professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, CA, MBA) welcome but not essential
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
