Team Overview

Our Business Services team is one of Buzzacott's largest, comprising of around 70 professionals who provide specialist support to a diverse range of privately owned businesses across multiple sectors including financial services. The team delivers a comprehensive suite of outsourced services, including management accounting, VAT, payroll, company secretarial support, and regulatory reporting, and has a strong training ethos with a focus on developing individuals who want to build a career in accountancy.

Within Business Services sits our specialist Financial Services Accounting team, which provides outsourced accounting support to a broad range of FCA-regulated firms and financial services businesses. Our client base ranges from entrepreneurial start-ups and growing businesses to well-established inbound subsidiaries of US hedge-fund managers. Acting as an extension of our clients' finance functions, we deliver proactive support, valuable financial insight and help businesses navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment and help clients achieve their strategic objectives.

With deep sector expertise and a reputation for delivering exceptional client service, joining the team offers the opportunity to develop specialist financial sector knowledge while gaining exposure to a diverse portfolio of FCA-regulated businesses. We are committed to investing in our people with regular, high-quality training and development programmes, ensuring that they have the support and opportunities needed to progress their careers.

Our low staff turnover rate is testament to both the culture of our team and the wider firm as well as our commitment to create genuine opportunities for progression. As a true meritocracy, we have an excellent track record of promoting talented individuals through to Manager and Partner levels.

We recognise the value of in-person collaboration, both within our own teams and in building long-term relationships with our clients. Working together in person helps develop key technical and interpersonal skills, encourages knowledge sharing and strengthens connections across the firm, including with our Audit, Tax and Advisory teams. Equally, we recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We are proud of the emphasis we place on social activities, wellbeing and creating an environment where our people can thrive both professionally and personally.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
