About the Team

The Financial Services (FS) practice plays a vital role within Forvis Mazars’ wider business.

Key Details:

  • The UK practice has over 35 partners and 700 specialist staff in financial services.

  • Tailored advisory services are provided to clients in:

    • Asset management
    • FinTech
    • Banking and capital markets
    • Insurance
    • Real estate
  • Tax is integral to these services.

  • The collective passion lies in leveraging FS industry expertise and deep service line knowledge to deliver bespoke client advice.


About the Role

This position focuses on driving and leading across UK FS corporate tax client engagements, blending:

  • Advisory
  • Compliance
  • Audit work across:
    • Asset management
    • Banking
    • Capital markets
    • Insurance

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in tax technical development across wider teams.

  • Undertake research into complex or bespoke tax matters.

  • Support delivery of:

    • Cross-border tax compliance
    • Tax advisory engagements
    • Tax audits
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality work for clients while achieving profitable outcomes through:

    • Aligning with best practices
    • Using technology efficiently
    • Adhering to Firm policies
  • Work closely with junior team members in the London office to:

    • Delegate and review their work
    • Foster learning and development

Work Arrangements:

In line with the Firm’s general guidance, it is expected that this role operates out of the London office an average of 3 days per week, balancing driving delivery and supporting junior teams.


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be qualified at ACA, CA, CTA, or equivalent level.
  • Strong interest in financial services and related tax issues.
  • Relevant experience in delivering UK corporate tax engagements across Financial Services industries.

Knowledge:

  • Strong awareness of:
    • Broader tax
    • International tax
    • Regulatory and accounting areas

Skills:

  • Able to manage projects, meet deadlines, and ensure engagement profitability.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proactive approach and demonstration of expert methods in engagements.
