Lima, Jacksonville or London (Hybrid Working - 3 days per week in the office)
What to Expect
- Act as the finance architecture lead and payments subject matter expert for new products, platform changes, and finance transformation initiatives.
- Document end-to-end money flows from customer initiation through processing, settlement, safeguarding or funding, reconciliation, and general ledger reporting.
- Map product and system events to accounting events, including transaction initiation, authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, chargebacks, fees, foreign exchange, reserves, and other relevant lifecycle events.
- Design automated journal entry logic, accounting rules, data requirements, and interfaces to the general ledger and supporting subledgers.
- Design scalable reconciliation frameworks across payment platforms, processors, bank accounts, settlement files, operational systems, subledgers, and the general ledger.
- Define reconciliation ownership, frequency, matching logic, tolerances, exception handling, aging, escalation, and management reporting requirements.
- Identify accounting, reconciliation, operational, and control gaps, and assess related SOX and financial reporting implications.
- Lead cross-functional design workshops and work simultaneously with Product, Engineering, Operations, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Risk, Compliance, and Internal Controls teams.
- Translate complex payment flows and technical system behavior into clear finance requirements, process documentation, accounting conclusions, and implementation-ready designs.
- Support ERP, subledger, data platform, and reconciliation tool integrations, including SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and comparable enterprise platforms.
- Provide finance leadership for design decisions, testing, implementation readiness, issue resolution, and transition to sustainable business-as-usual ownership.
- Drive standardization, automation, and process efficiency while maintaining appropriate financial governance and control.
- Provide support in the future implementation of new ERP system and global operating model tailored to Latin America

To be successful you need to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification or certification preferred, such as CPA, Chartered Accountant, or local equivalent.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in payments finance, finance transformation, product accounting, financial systems architecture, reconciliation, controllership, or related roles.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Demonstrated experience as a payments subject matter expert, finance transformation lead, product accounting lead, or reconciliation and controls specialist.
- Deep understanding of payment transaction lifecycles, settlement models, processor reporting, cash movement, and accounting data requirements.
- Hands-on experience documenting money flows, mapping system events to accounting events, designing automated journal entries, and establishing reconciliation and exception-management frameworks.
- Experience identifying control gaps and designing controls that support SOX compliance and reliable financial reporting.
- Ability to lead across Product, Engineering, Operations, Treasury, and Accounting teams and convert business and technical requirements into practical finance solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, facilitation, and written communication skills.
- Experience with card acquiring, digital wallets, issuing or prepaid cards, merchant settlement, and payment processing environments.
- Experience with ERP and finance system integrations, SAP B1 preferable but can include SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or comparable platforms.
- Experience with high-volume transaction data, finance data models, subledgers, reconciliation platforms, and automated accounting solutions will be considered an advantage.
