Summary of Role Purpose:

This role sits within our Financial Services Finance Transformation Capability working with Clients in the Middle East to deliver finance and regulatory change. Successful candidates should have excellent Financial Services Industry experience, in-depth knowledge of Finance Operating Models and Finance Systems and be willing to the Middle East for client delivery as required.

Description of the role:

In Finance Transformation, we improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance function and generate real insights to help deliver value to the business. Our mission statement is to create a sustainable practice which is recognised as being number one in the industry.

Our Finance Transformation practice is a priority area for significant and strategic growth, and the team works with leading Banking, Insurance, Wealth and Asset Management, and Private Equity clients focusing on understanding the core issues and opportunities, to deliver value-adding change across their Finance functions. The key drivers of change for our clients are regulatory reform, cost reduction, process optimisation and technology implementation, our service offerings reflect this demand.

The Middle East is an emerging market for KPMG UK, the successful candidate will form part of a growing team who seek to scale KPMG’s FS FT services in that market through client delivery and business development.

A note on international travel

This role has a focus on engagements in the Middle East, and development of our relations. We are looking for a measure of flexibility from the right candidate, as up to around half your working time may be spent travelling internationally.

Role Dimensions:

Client Delivery

  • Mobilising and leading major and complex Finance programmes in the Middle East
  • Ability to manage cross-functional global engagement teams, both internally within KPMG, and external Client teams
  • Leading development of technology enabled Client solutions and propositions

Business Development

  • Leading the pursuit of business development opportunities around the CFO agenda in the Middle East
  • Building and leveraging both internal and external relationships to support Partners and Directors in driving business development and sales activities in the Middle East

Practice Development

  • Perform a lead role in forming internally generated solutions and training that are developed by the FS FT capability
  • Lead, and form teams to support the development of initiatives that grow and promote the practice internally and externally

People Management

  • Assist with goal development and coaching of staff to enable the growth of the junior management team within the FS FT practice
  • Support the development of junior team members through formal training as well as informal coaching & mentoring

Required:

  • Significant experience in finance transformation consulting
  • Experience of analysis strategic and business drivers of Financial Services
  • Broad knowledge of the Finance function and Finance operating models
  • Strong people manager who can lead large teams and develop/coach others
  • Experience of working on Client sales team and developing strong Client relationships
  • Experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Programme and project management experience
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to create and deliver high level presentations and output reviews to senior executives/stakeholders and business managers
  • Ability to review and challenge information that has been provided by other team members, ensuring the information is ‘fit for purpose’ and at the right level of granularity
  • Willingness to travel to the Middle East for client delivery as required

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Middle Eastern clients or markets
  • Proficiency in business Arabic
  • Accountancy qualification with strong post qualification experience or equivalent experience
