We're supporting an international real estate business in the search for an experienced Interim Financial/Fund Controller on an initial 6-month contract.

This is a hands-on role supporting a portfolio of complex international real estate funds, requiring someone who can quickly add value across fund reporting, treasury, governance, and financial control. You'll work closely with senior finance and investment stakeholders.

Location: Based near the Holborn area, London

Working Arrangement: Hybrid Working: 2 days in office, 3 days WFH

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and quarter-end fund reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  • Prepare investor reporting, management accounts, board packs, and statutory financial statements.
  • Manage fund cash flow, liquidity forecasting, capital calls, and investor distributions.
  • Oversee debt reporting and covenant compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across multiple fund structures.
  • Build strong relationships with auditors, tax advisers, legal counsel, and outsourced service providers.
  • Support acquisitions, restructurings, and other strategic finance projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls, and reporting.

About You

You'll be an accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) with proven experience within real estate. You'll also have:

  • Strong real estate, private equity, or alternative investment fund experience.
  • Experience managing complex fund structures and investor reporting.
  • Excellent technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
  • Strong treasury and cash flow management experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems.
  • The ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and deliver in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience within real estate, student accommodation, hospitality, or infrastructure funds.
  • Exposure to international or cross-border investment structures.
  • German language skills are advantageous but not essential.
