Our platform supports a comprehensive suite of services including cash and synthetic prime brokerage, securities lending and borrowing, repo financing, margin optimization, and cross-asset clearing.
The Role
The Product Manager – Financing & Clearing is a high-impact leadership position accountable for driving revenue growth, strategic platform innovation, and risk excellence across Citi's financing and clearing infrastructure. This role sits at the critical intersection of front-office sales and trading, quantitative risk management, client service, and global technology delivery.

Primary Responsibilities
- Own Platform Innovation and Capability Development: Help define and prioritize the multi-year platform roadmap for cash prime brokerage, synthetic equities, securities lending, stock locate. Lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives to deliver state-of-the-art functionality—real-time margin analytics, automated collateral optimization, API connectivity, and digital client portals—that unlock new trading opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
- Serve as the Strategic Liaison Across Business, Technology, and Operations: Scope complex technical requirements, lead agile delivery teams, and drive execution of significant platform enhancements in partnership with global technology and operations functions. Act as the primary decision-maker and escalation point for key stakeholders including Legal, Compliance, Risk, Middle Office, and senior trading desk leadership.
- Provide Regulatory and Industry Thought Leadership: Anticipate and interpret the strategic implications of evolving global regulations (including T+1 settlement, Uncleared Margin Rules, Basel III/IV capital frameworks, EMIR, and SFTR) on business strategy, client delivery, and platform architecture. Proactively shape business positioning and product development to address material regulatory developments and competitive market dynamics.
- Establish Rigorous Risk and Control Frameworks: Champion operational excellence and regulatory integrity across all platform processes. Oversee operations and technology partners to ensure flawless execution of critical functions including trade lifecycle management, margin calculations, securities settlement, and corporate actions processing. Lead coordination with in-business Risk and Credit teams on complex client activity, driving policy formulation and strategic risk decisions.
- Build and Maintain Strategic Client Relationships: Act as a trusted advisor to institutional clients on platform capabilities, margin optimization strategies, clearing workflows, and regulatory compliance. Translate complex client requirements into actionable product enhancements that deliver measurable business value and strengthen client retention.

What We Need from You
- Experience in prime brokerage, or securities financing within a Tier-1 investment bank, prime broker, or institutional fintech, with a demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and delivering measurable revenue growth or platform transformation. 8–10+ years of managerial experience leading high-performing teams.
- Deep domain expertise across cash and synthetic prime brokerage, securities lending and borrowing, repo financing, margin models (SPAN, VaR-based, SIMM, portfolio margining), and institutional trade lifecycle workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across complex matrix organizations, including strategic partnerships with trading desks, quantitative analysts, risk management, technology architects, and operations leadership. Ability to drive alignment, resolve conflicts, and deliver results in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Strong technical and platform acumen, including familiarity with modern distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, API design principles (REST, FIX protocol), event-driven messaging frameworks, and data analytics platforms. Hands-on proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools preferred.
- Superior communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts clearly and persuasively to senior executives, trading desk leadership, institutional clients, and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Bachelor's degree / University degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline preferred.
- Professional certifications (CFA, FRM, CQF) are a plus.
