The Role

We are seeking a motivated Financial Accountant who will be a key part of our client's Manchester-based Finance team, working closely with the Financial Controller and other Finance and Treasury colleagues.

The Financial Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records while supporting the wider finance function. The role is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, completing balance sheet reconciliations, managing key purchase ledger processes, and providing support to Treasury Operations. Working closely with the Finance team, the Financial Accountant will help deliver accurate financial reporting, maintain strong financial controls, and drive continuous process improvements.

  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other month-end adjustments.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure reporting deadlines are met, and liaise with external auditors to support this process.
  • Support the preparation of management accounts and statutory reporting requirements, including external audit requirements.
  • Support the preparation of tax returns, working with tax advisers as appropriate.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis such as trends on costs and expenses, and provide insights from analysis on the ledger.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
