Legacy, the three-rosette fine dining restaurant at The Grand, York, is looking for a passionate Commis Chef to join our talented kitchen brigade. Open Wednesday to Sunday for dinner service, alongside occasional exclusive lunch events, Legacy is driven by seasonality, precision, and creativity. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a high-end kitchen, working alongside an experienced team dedicated to excellence. You will support senior chefs in delivering exceptional dishes while learning advanced techniques, premium ingredients, and refined plating styles. What You Will Do In This Splendid Role:
- Assisting senior chefs with the preparation and service of refined, seasonal dishes, ensuring every plate meets our high standards of quality, consistency and presentation.
- Preparing ingredients and maintaining exceptional mise en place while gaining hands on experience across the kitchen under the guidance of experienced chefs.
- Supporting seamless service by working collaboratively with the kitchen brigade and contributing to an exceptional dining experience.
- Receiving, checking, storing and rotating stock correctly, helping to minimise waste while ensuring the kitchen remains organised, efficient and fully prepared for service.
- Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness and hygiene in line with HACCP procedures, taking pride in every detail of your work and workstation.
