Role Description
The Finishing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Carlisle, responsible for overseeing finishing activities on construction and production projects. The role includes planning and coordinating finishing works, supervising site teams, and ensuring that all work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards. The Finishing Manager will monitor progress, resolve on-site issues, and liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to maintain schedules and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include carrying out inspections, enforcing site safety procedures, managing resources and materials, and preparing reports on quality, productivity, and project status. The role also involves continuous improvement of finishing processes and supporting the successful delivery of projects from pre-completion through handover.

Qualifications

- Strong Quality Control experience, including inspection of finishes, defect management, and adherence to project standards.
- Proven Project Management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver finishing works on time and within scope.
- Relevant site safety qualifications such as SMSTS, with a solid understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Background in Production Management or site supervision, with experience organizing teams, workflows, and materials for finishing phases.
- Hands-on Construction experience, particularly in interiors or final fit-out, with the ability to read drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced site environment.
- Competence in basic IT tools (e.g., MS Office) and site reporting; a relevant technical or construction-related qualification is advantageous.
