About Bodycote

At Bodycote, we’re more than the world’s leading provider of heat treatment and specialist thermal processing services. We’re a people business at heart. Our commitment to innovation and sustainability shapes everything we do. With a global footprint and a culture built on collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement, we create an environment where you can grow, contribute, and make a meaningful impact. Sustainability is central to our future. We’re on an ambitious journey to reduce our environmental impact through advanced technologies, smarter processes, and ongoing innovation, with our teams around the world playing a key role in making that happen.

The Role

As a Finishing Shop Machine Operator, you’ll set up and operate a range of finishing equipment, including cylindrical, surface, and polishing machines. You’ll be responsible for ensuring components are finished to quality standards, inspecting parts before and after processing, and carrying out routine operator maintenance tasks. You’ll gain a thorough understanding of factors affecting coating quality and use this knowledge to consistently deliver high-quality work. You’ll also have the opportunity to train colleagues, maintain excellent housekeeping (5S), follow the “check–work–check” process, and operate safely while upholding statutory duty of care for yourself and others. Through your work, you’ll directly impact production efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
