Job Title: Finishing Technician (Metal Polisher)
Location: Watford
Contract Type: Permanent | Full Time
Our client, a prestigious organisation renowned for its excellence in decorative metal plating, is seeking a dedicated Finishing Technician (Metal Polisher) to join their dynamic polishing department. With a legacy of over 50 years in the industry, this family-run business is celebrated for its high-quality workmanship and exceptional service, catering to luxury sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and super yachts.
Role Overview
As a Finishing Technician, you will collaborate with a team of skilled professionals to hone your metal polishing craft. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, transforming raw machined parts into stunningly finished products that meet the organisation's exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with advanced polishing machinery to achieve a mirror finish on metal components.
- Collaborate with Senior Metal Finishing Technicians to learn intricate polishing processes.
- Ensure high-quality results through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Participate in risk assessments and follow health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Exhibit strong teamwork while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.

What Our Client Is Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in metal polishing, ideally using polishing motors, orbital sanders, and/or diamond cutters - or work in a similar manufacturing environment (production operative etc)
- A teachable attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing outstanding quality work.
- Perseverance and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A friendly and approachable demeanour, contributing positively to team dynamics.
- Punctuality and reliability in meeting deadlines.

Working Hours
- 39.5 hours per week
- Monday - Thursday: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (30-minute lunch and morning tea break)
- Friday: 7:30 am to 1:00 pm (with a morning tea break)
- Overtime available Monday to Friday, offering additional earnings at time-and-a-half.
