FinOps Cloud Consultant

Pay type: PAYE only, no Umbrella
About the Role
We are recruiting for a FinOps Cloud Consultant to join our client, a major US Investment Bank on an initial 12 month contract in London.
This is a hands-on role focused on cloud cost management, optimisation and analytics. You'll analyse cloud billing and usage data, identify cost-saving opportunities and develop reporting and financial models to help Technology and Finance teams better understand and manage cloud spend.
We're looking for a strong FinOps professional with experience across at least one of AWS, Azure or GCP, combined with good technical data skills including SQL, Power BI and ETL/data pipelines. Snowflake experience would also be beneficial. Note that this is not a data engineer role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse cloud billing, usage and consumption data across AWS, Azure and/or GCP
- Identify and quantify cloud cost optimisation opportunities
- Develop cost allocation, showback and chargeback models
- Build forecasting, budget versus actual and variance analysis
- Develop Power BI dashboards and reporting
- Use SQL to analyse and manipulate large datasets
- Work with ETL / ELT processes and data pipelines
- Support cloud commitment and optimisation analysis, including Reserved Instances and Savings Plans
- Monitor data quality and ensure accurate cost allocation
- Present findings and recommendations to Technology, Finance and Business stakeholders

What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in FinOps / Cloud Cost Management
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
- Strong understanding of cloud cost optimisation and financial management
- Good SQL and Power BI skills
- Experience with ETL / ELT and data pipelines
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
- Experience working with large, complex datasets
- Excellent analytical and stakeholder communication skills
