Referment is working with a growing financial technology business to hire a FinOps Lead to establish and own its cloud financial management capability.

As the company's cloud platform continues to scale, you'll sit at the intersection of Engineering, Finance and Product, taking ownership of cloud cost visibility, optimisation, forecasting and governance.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands both the technical and commercial aspects of AWS and can help engineering teams make better decisions around cloud consumption.

The Role

You'll Be Responsible For

  • Owning cloud cost management and optimisation across the organisation.
  • Monitoring AWS consumption and identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary spend.
  • Developing cost allocation and tagging standards.
  • Implementing showback and chargeback models.
  • Managing Reserved Instances, Savings Plans and other cloud commercial commitments.
  • Partnering with Engineering and Finance on cloud forecasting and investment decisions.
  • Establishing FinOps governance, reporting and processes.
  • Introducing and managing cloud cost-management tooling.
  • Providing teams with greater visibility and accountability around cloud consumption.
  • Embedding FinOps best practices across the organisation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
