Are you ready to shape FinOps strategies, lead strategic client engagements, and help build a growing FinOps practice?

Practical Information

About the Role

As a Principal FinOps Consultant, you’ll help organisations get more value from their cloud investments by bringing together technology, finance, and business strategy. You’ll lead strategic client engagements, deliver impactful workshops, and turn cloud cost data into actionable insights that drive optimisation, efficiency, and business value.

You’ll play a key role in shaping and growing our FinOps practice. From supporting pre-sales and developing new service offerings to mentoring colleagues and contributing to our FinOps Centre of Excellence (CoE), you’ll help build the expertise, solutions, and capabilities that drive our business forward.

This is an opportunity to combine deep FinOps expertise with strategic consulting and client engagement— helping our customers mature their cloud financial management practices while driving innovation across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements: Drive strategic FinOps projects, facilitate workshops, and present insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Drive cloud cost optimisation: Assess clients’ cloud financial management practices, identify cost drivers, and translate spend analysis into actionable optimisation opportunities.
  • Turn data into insights: Analyse cloud consumption and cost data using native cloud tools, vendor dashboards, raw datasets, and custom solutions to uncover savings opportunities and improve financial visibility.
  • Shape FinOps strategy: Help clients develop and mature their FinOps capabilities, operating models, governance, and cost management practices.
  • Support business growth: Lead FinOps-related pre-sales activities, contribute to proposals and solution design, and act as a subject matter expert across service lines.
  • Build trusted client relationships: Partner with strategic customers, manage complex engagements and escalations, and identify opportunities for continued collaboration and new services.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with engineering, application, and finance teams to understand cost drivers, improve accountability, and implement effective tagging and allocation strategies.
  • Own project delivery: Lead complex FinOps initiatives, ensuring high-quality outcomes, effective stakeholder management, and delivery against agreed timelines.
  • Enable knowledge sharing: Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and help clients build the skills and processes needed to manage their cloud costs independently.
  • Shape our FinOps offering: Contribute to the evolution of our FinOps portfolio, identify opportunities for new services, and support the development of our FinOps Centre of Excellence (CoE).
  • Develop FinOps talent: Mentor colleagues, share best practices, and support internal training and champion programmes to strengthen FinOps capabilities across the organisation.
  • Champion innovation and thought leadership: Stay on top of FinOps and cloud economics trends, bring new ideas into our practice, and help position the organisation as a trusted partner in cloud financial management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
