Role Description
The Fire Alarm Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater London. The role involves designing and configuring fire alarm and detection systems, installing equipment and cabling, and commissioning systems to meet applicable standards and client specifications. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting and testing fire alarm and related life safety systems, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and performing routine maintenance and upgrades. The engineer will prepare technical documentation, maintain accurate service records, and communicate clearly with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope. The role also requires adherence to relevant regulations and company safety procedures while working on occupied and new-build sites.

- Strong knowledge of Fire Protection Engineering, including system design and performance requirements.
- Experience with Fire Suppression Systems and integration with fire detection and control panels.
- Understanding of Life Safety and Fire Safety principles, codes, and standards (e.g., BS/EN standards).
- Background in Safety Engineering, including risk assessment and safe work practices on-site.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in electrical/electronic engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a fire alarm or fire systems engineer, ideally in commercial or industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, and use diagnostic tools effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for reporting, documentation, and client interaction.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Greater London and surrounding areas as required.
