Technical Support Engineer – Fire Alarm Engineer
West Drayton, UK | £40,000–£45,000 | Full-Time
About the Company
We're working with a growing technology business seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer to join its technical team. You'll use your hands-on fire alarm experience across technical support, fault finding, product testing, customer training and product development.

Are you an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer looking to move into a more varied technical role? This is an excellent opportunity to take your fire alarm engineering experience into a broader technical position, with exposure to customers, electronics, testing, production and product development.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers, installers and partners.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot fire alarm and electronic equipment.
- Support installation, commissioning and fault-finding queries.
- Deliver product and technical training.
- Attend customer sites when required.
- Support product testing, production and R&D.
- Use electrical/electronic test equipment and technical software.
- Feed field experience into product improvements.
Required Skills
We're looking for a Fire Alarm Engineer with:
- Experience installing, commissioning, servicing or maintaining fire alarm systems.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of fire alarm panels, detection equipment and associated systems.
- Experience using a multimeter and reading electrical/electronic schematics.
- Good IT and communication skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in a technical support environment.
- Experience with product testing and fault diagnosis.
- Experience delivering customer or engineer training.
- Exposure to product development or R&D.
- Knowledge of BS 5839 and addressable fire alarm systems would be advantageous.
